The Panasonic HDC-TM10 is one of the lightest high definition camcorders on the market and literally fits in the palm of your hand. A dinky yet powerful gadget.

While most camcorders have either onboard memory or external storage the MM10 has twin memory so when internal memory fills up it automatically begins storing footage on the SD card. There is 8GB internal and you can store on either SD or SDHC card.

Having tried its little brother, the HDC-SD10, you can feel how lightweight this range is and also how easy it is to capture quality footage with basic know how.

A clever feature that both cameras have is Pre-Rec: it means that you'll never miss the perfect moment becasue when you have this function enabled footage is continually recorded, adding 30 seconds to the beginning of your clip when you hit record or else dumping the data if unused.

There is minimal fuss with buttons - switching on, recording, prerecording and focusing are oh-so-easy, and there is a switch for a light in dark conditions. You'll get anywhere between four and eight hours of footage depending on the quality of resolution you choose.

Price: €679
Get it: From camera retailers nationwide including Camera Centre, Conns and Pixels, as well as branches of DID, Power City, Harvey Norman, Soundstore, and Expert
