Nikon D5000 (DSLR)

The Nikon D5000 is a powerful consumer SLR with great auto features, high shutter speeds and the ability to record HD video with sound.

The D5000 is serious kit but the helpful new Nikon menu interface with the entire manual stored on the camera itself will make it easier for the novice to make those tentative steps towards pro photography.

The 2.7-inch LCD screen is a vari-angle monitor that allows for capturing images at the most awkward angles imaginable. I was able to snap lots of interesting view points by swivelling out the screen and getting creative. This swivel action also means that when not in use you cn fold away the screen for protection against scratches.

Their is more protection in the form of the Image Sensor Cleaning and Airflow Control system, making it extra dust repellent.

This 12.3-megapixel DSLR has just about every snazzy feature the photography enthusiast could wish for.

It aso has Global Positioning System (GPS) if you get theoptional GP-1 unit that attaches to the camera and automatically records latitude, longitude, altitude and time as 'geotags' in the image data of your photos.

Price: Kit (inc lens) €838.00, body only €753.00
