Nokia 6210 Navigator

Nokia has managed to avoid being completely distracted by the iPhone-mania, secure in the knowledge that it is still unassailably the largest phone maker in the world, and millions of people wouldn't be without a Nokia device.

The 6210 Navigator sits inside a tough plastic chassis and is sporty in style rather than business-like.

This phone is a slider device that comes with built-in GPS mapping technology. Nokia's mapping software takes a bit of getting used to, but once you've got it set to your present location, it works perfectly.

As a driver, I thought the 6210 Navigator would be ideal, but from judging the display, it really is more suited to a pedestrian visiting cities and tourist attractions than a driver getting from A to B.

The display gives a kind of third-person view, rather than the three-dimensional street views most motorists would prefer.

That said, it is still a great example of the kind of capabilities most mobile phones will boast for some time to come. It can only get better.
