New Irish website for the IKEA uninitiated
27.07.2009

If you're a bit of a flatpack furniture phobe but the call of the new IKEA store opening in Dublin today beckons you, you're not alone.
A new website - Simple Assembly Me Hole.com - is aiming to cut out the hair-pulling and screams experienced when you discover that your new cabinet has wheels on the table top and hinges on the shelves.
For €30 per furniture item Simple Assembly Me Hole will come to your home and have your IKEA wares assembled by qualified carpenters, fitters and tradesmen from around Dublin city.
For internet entrepreneur Maryrose Lyons the inspiration for behind creating this new business was a no-brainer: ""So many of my friends travelled up to Belfast when Ikea opened, went mad on the shopping, and had to face the consequences of trying to put it all together when they got home.
"It took away from the enjoyment of their new furniture," she said.
This service is not just for the lazy or spatially challenged. For new parents who want to ensure that their baby's cot and other furniture is assembled with the utmost safety in mind, business owners who don't have the time to kit out the office by hand or property owners looking to furnish a new apartment.
SimpleAssemblyMeHole.com, which launched today, promises to handle deliveries within 24 hours and kitchen installations are priced at 15pc of the cost of the kitchen.
