Android G2 on the way?

When HTC's entire 2009 line-up, including 25 devices, was leaked last week ,rumours were flying that the Sapphire handset was in fact the brand new G2. Blurry snaps circulating the web of what is being called the new G2 seems to confirm this theory.
According to a tipster at Gizmodo the fuzzy photos are of the new G2 Android phone. They show a shiny white exterior with a 3.2-megapixel camera and apparently no slide-out keypad.
The back is curved and shiny - it actually resembles the back of the white 16GB iPhone - and although it's hard to tell it appears to be slimmer than the original G1.
If this really is the new G2 then judging by pictures accompanying the leak of HTC's line-up for the year it will come in at least two colours - black and white (see Sapphire below).
According to Gizmodo it has a release date in the US for some time in May, but don't hold your breath here in Ireland because we don't even have the G1 yet - although telecoms veteran and all-round mobile expert Pat Phelan has one and has managed to get his MAXroam SIM up and running on it.
