Apple iPad to go on sale on 3 April

Apple has given a date for the launch of its iPad: it will go on sale from 3 April in the US with availability in Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan in late April.

The Wi-Fi only model will be available first from 3 April in the US while the Wi-Fi plus 3G model gets the late April launch both in the US and all other regions.
Ireland is not included in April launch
Pre-order for the iPad starts from 12 March but bad news for Irish Apple fans - Ireland is not listed in the European regions that will be seeing the arrival of the tablet device.
So far, the European countries included in the launch are: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
Apple added that the iPad will ship in additional countries "later this year" and said that international pricing will be announced in April.
An Apple spokespreson told Gadgetrepublic: "At this point we haven't confirmed availability for Ireland" but said that "as far as iPad availability is concerned, Ireland in the second wave of availability after the US."
