Samsung gets smart with Omnia Pro

Better known for its consumer-end devices in the form of the Tocco, Ping and Genio, Samsung has released a Windows Mobile Qwerty smart phone - the Omnia Pro (B7330).

Unlike the Omnia and Omnia 2, which both run on Windows Mobile, the Pro is not a touchscreen device but very much aimed at the busy professional, with a Qwerty keypad and wide 2.6-inch TFT display.

Running on the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, the Pro has Microsoft Office, Windows Media Player, instant messaging and access to Microsoft's app store, Windows Marketplace for Mobile.

It also has the latest back-up service, Microsoft My Phone, for free back-up of contacts, your calendar, photos, music and even text messages.

The Omnia Pro B7330 is available now from O2 and Carphone Warehouse from €199 on Postpay Plus and will be arriving on Vodafone in the next few weeks.

The Omnia PRO B7610, a slide-out touchscreen Qwerty device that is part of the new Omnia Pro family, will also be coming to O2 Ireland soon.
