Dell's M11x is most powerful 11-inch laptop yet

Feast your eyes on the Alienware M11x from Dell - an 11-inch hardcore games machine with 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M graphics and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

Bought by Dell in 2006, Alienware has long been considered the top manufacturer of serious PC games machines - in fact, in 2009 it was voted best gaming computer - and this time it hopes to deliver with the most powerful compact laptop on the market.

The M11x has been touted as the perfect machine for mobile gaming and has up to 8.5 hours battery life, weighs just under 4.5 pounds and is available with up to 500GB of a regular hard drive or a 256GB solid state drive.

"The Alienware M11x is an exciting evolution in the PC gaming segment.  Intel is thrilled to see the new M11x make a successful splash in the market," says Intel's Doug Parker, director, Americas Marketing.

It recently won CNET's best gaming platform at CES.  Even more exciting, the M11x is powered by an Intel ultra-low voltage CPU which makes the system very thin and compact with an 11.6-inch screen."

Pricing starts from UK£749 but it is not available just yet from Dell.ie.
